  African Freedom of Information Center (AFIC) emerges as a pan-African champion for the right of access to information. As a membership-based civil society network and resource center, AFIC has been at the forefront of promoting transparency and accountability across Africa since its establishment in 2007 in Nigeria and subsequent establishment of a permanent office in Uganda in 2009. With a robust network of 46 civil society organizations (CSOs) and think tanks spanning 23 African countries, AFIC works tirelessly to ensure that all citizens can exercise their fundamental right to access information.
