Bringing Safe Water, Proper Sanitation and Hygiene to Rural Uganda!

AWS, a non-profit organization, is making a significant impact on vulnerable communities in rural areas of Uganda. Operating in 11 districts, including Kisoro, Rubanda, and Kanungu, AWS focuses on providing improved access to safe water, proper sanitation, and hygiene. Their guiding principle for selection is the level of need for these vital resources, particularly in areas with water stress, poor latrine coverage, and high incidences of diarrhoea diseases.AWS is committed to ensuring that everyone has access to safe water and proper sanitation, regardless of where they live. In partnership with local communities, they have been implementing innovative solutions that are helping to transform lives. Through the installation of boreholes, hand pumps, and rainwater harvesting systems, AWS has helped to provide access to safe water to thousands of people in rural Uganda.In addition, AWS has been working to improve sanitation and hygiene practices by building latrines and conducting hygiene awareness campaigns. These efforts have been critical in reducing the incidence of diarrhoea diseases, which have been a significant cause of illness and death in rural Uganda.AWS’s impact extends beyond just providing access to safe water, proper sanitation, and hygiene. Through their work, they are also helping to empower communities and build resilience. By involving community members in every step of the process, from project design to implementation and maintenance, AWS is helping to foster a sense of ownership and sustainability.AWS’s work in rural Uganda is making a significant impact on vulnerable communities.
