Arua Regional Cancer Centre (ARCC) is a beacon of hope for those battling cancer in the West Nile sub-region of Uganda. Established in 2017, the public, specialized, tertiary care medical facility is owned by the Uganda Ministry of Health and is affiliated with Muni University and Arua Regional Referral Hospital.Located in the heart of the central business district of Arua, ARCC is easily accessible to patients from all over the region. The cancer treatment, research, and teaching center is staffed by skilled oncologists who work in collaboration with Uganda Cancer Institute (UCI) specialists to provide top-notch care to patients.ARCC is also a hub for cancer research and education, making it an invaluable resource for healthcare professionals across the country. The center’s establishment came about as a result of the increased patient burden at Uganda Cancer Institute, where thousands of new patients are registered annually.The facility is currently housed on the premises of Arua Regional Referral Hospital, but plans are underway to construct a standalone regional cancer center in the future.
