Valley University of Science and Technology (VUST) is a renowned institution of higher learning in Uganda. Founded in the year 1999, the university has come a long way in shaping the minds of the future leaders of Uganda. VUST is a non-profit organization and is affiliated with Central Busoga Diocese of the Church of Uganda.Located in the scenic town of Iganga, approximately 41 kilometres northeast of Jinja, VUST’s main campus boasts state-of-the-art facilities and a conducive learning environment. The university campus is easily located using the coordinates 0°35’29.0″N, 33°27’32.0″E (Latitude:0.591389; Longitude:33.458889).VUST has a rich history dating back to 1993 when Busoga College Mwiri’s Board of Governors passed a resolution to establish a university on the same hill. This resolution led to the appointment of a University Formation Task Force (UFTF) in 1994 to map out the process of establishing the university. On 6 May 1995, VUST was inaugurated by the Bishop of Busoga in the presence of His Royal Highness the Kyabazinga of Busoga, Henry Wako Muloki.Since its inception, VUST has been at the forefront of providing quality education to Ugandan students. The university has a diverse student body and a highly qualified faculty, which ensures that students receive a well-rounded education.Despite the temporary revocation of its provisional license in 2017 by the Uganda National Council for Higher Education, VUST remains committed to providing quality education to its students.
