Entebbe Military Hospital

Entebbe Military Hospital, also known as Katabi Military Hospital or Katabi UPDAF Hospital, is a state-of-the-art medical facility located on the premises of the Entebbe UPDF Air Force base in the Katabi neighborhood of the city of Entebbe. This hospital is named after the late Dr. Ronald Bata, the first medical doctor to join the National Resistance Army guerrilla outfit in 1982 during the Ugandan Bush War. The hospital caters to the units of the UPDF stationed in Entebbe, including the Air Force and Special Forces Command, as well as civilians from the surrounding community.Since its inception, Entebbe Military Hospital has been committed to providing the highest quality healthcare services to its patients. The hospital underwent renovations and an upgrade in 2017, costing USh293 million (approx. US$80,000) and was carried out by the UPDF Engineering brigade. This upgrade has equipped the hospital with modern medical equipment, state-of-the-art facilities and has boosted its capacity to handle a greater number of patients.With its team of highly skilled and experienced medical professionals, Entebbe Military Hospital offers a range of medical services including emergency care, inpatient care, outpatient care, surgical services, radiology, pathology, physiotherapy and laboratory services. The hospital has also invested in telemedicine technology that enables doctors to provide remote consultations and treatment to patients who are unable to physically visit the hospital.Approximately 75 percent of the patients treated at Entebbe Military Hospital are civilians from the surrounding community. This is a testament to the hospital’s commitment to providing quality healthcare to all individuals in need, regardless of their background or status.
