International University of East Africa (IUEA)

The International University of East Africa (IUEA) is a private non-profit institution that has recently been granted a charter by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).This prestigious license is only given to universities that meet the rigorous standards of academic excellence set by the Uganda National Council for Higher Education and the Ministry of Education. This means that IUEA is comparable to a public university and is among the few private universities in Uganda that have achieved this distinction.Located in Kansanga, off the Kampala-Ggaba Road, IUEA is one of the newest universities in Uganda, having been founded in 2010. However, it has already established a reputation for academic and technological excellence. With a campus spanning 20 acres, it is expected to accommodate up to 10,000 students once all the infrastructure is fully installed.IUEA’s first Chancellor was Professor Emmanuel Tumusiime-Mutebile, the late Governor of the Bank of Uganda, and the current Vice Chancellor is Dr. Emeka Akaezuewa.
