Katosi Women Development Trust (KWDT) is a non-profit organization based in East Africa that is dedicated to empowering women for social and economic development. Guided by its vision, mission, and core values, KWDT is committed to improving the lives of women by focusing on priority areas such as economic empowerment, WASH, formal and non-formal education, and environment. At the heart of KWDT’s mission is the desire to empower women to engage in social economic development processes. By organizing and empowering women to work in groups, KWDT is able to enhance their engagement in social, economic, and political development processes. This approach has proven successful, with many women benefiting from KWDT’s programs and initiatives. Through its various programs and initiatives, KWDT has provided training and resources to women, enabling them to start and grow their own businesses. KWDT also provides education and resources on WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) to improve the health and well-being of communities. In addition, KWDT supports formal and non-formal education programs for women and children, and works to protect the environment through initiatives such as reforestation and sustainable agriculture.
