Kivukoni School, established on November 1, 2011, embarked on a remarkable journey to provide exceptional education and foster a love for learning among children. The inaugural year was celebrated with an enchanting children’s circus, setting the stage for a vibrant and engaging learning atmosphere. In 2012, the school witnessed significant progress with the completion of the Computer and Music block. Additionally, the establishment of the Wangari Maathai indigenous forest further emphasized Kivukoni’s commitment to environmental stewardship. The year culminated with a spectacular end-of-year show titled “Babushka,” showcasing the students’ talent and creativity.   Continuing its expansion, Kivukoni School added another class-block and a dining room in 2013. Accomplishing a significant milestone, the school reached 100 pupils. Notable events during this period included the nursery’s enchanting Nativity performance and the mesmerizing “The Emerald Crown” production. In 2014, Kivukoni School unveiled an inspiring Art and Design room, fostering creativity and self-expression among the students. Additionally, the school adopted ‘Kivuko,’ an orphaned elephant, demonstrating its commitment to wildlife conservation. The year ended on a high note with the captivating musical show, ‘Tuishi Pamoja.In 2015, Kivukoni School expanded its offerings to Year 6, providing a comprehensive education to its students. The year was marked by the introduction of a new ‘circle’ play area and a netball pitch, promoting physical activity and teamwork. The highlight of the year was the unveiling of a spectacular 25-meter pool, creating an atmosphere of excitement and aquatic exploration with the theme “Ocean Commotion.” The subsequent years witnessed ongoing development, including the addition of a bookstore, offices, and a workshop. The playground underwent a revamp, and plans for Year 7 and 8 were set into motion, signaling Kivukoni’s commitment to continuous improvement and expansion.   The sports department received a significant boost in 2018 with the addition of a graded sports pitch, a sports store, and a PE hall. Simultaneously, the Early Years section saw the extension of classrooms and the construction of more toilets. In 2019, the car park was redesigned, and a new office and admin block were completed, streamlining operations and ensuring a conducive administrative environment.The year’s grand show, ‘Big Small World,’ showcased the students’ remarkable talents. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Kivukoni School adapted and evolved, implementing online learning and club pods. The year 2021 marked the school’s 10th anniversary, which was celebrated with great enthusiasm. Notably, Year 9 students were welcomed, and a new Science Lab was introduced, further enriching the academic offerings. The Decennial Circus held in December 2021 was a testament to the school’s vibrant spirit and dedication to excellence.   Kivukoni School continues to thrive as it welcomes Year 10 students and prepares them for their iGCSEs. With a current student population of 210 and a team of 38 dedicated teachers, the school maintains its commitment to providing high-quality education based on the Edexcel International Curriculum. While some students transition to other international schools, Kivukoni School instills in all its pupils a profound appreciation for the environment and nurtures them to become confident global citizens.
