Makerere Day and Evening class for adults (MAECA) is a unique school that caters for individuals who never completed their education up to A ‘level. This is the first school of its kind in Uganda, and it is registered with the Ministry of Education. MAECA has been helping individuals achieve their dreams since it started in 1996 by Rev. Pr. Headison M. Nyanzi with only three adults at Makerere Redeemed church.Today, the school has grown to accommodate over thousands of students, attending classes at different hours of the day.MAECA has a UNEB Examination Centre, and many of its students have joined different universities and institutions where they have attained bachelor’s degrees, masters, and doctorates. The school has helped many individuals to achieve their dreams in different areas, including the political arena, management, and administration in various institutions and organizations.At MAECA, we offer both Arts and Science subjects at all levels according to individual choice. We also offer languages, such as English only. The school has accommodation mainly catering for distant students. Our fees structure is friendly to different levels of people. The school is organized in a family set up, and each student is taken as a family member and can be helped by fellow students in time of need.MAECA offers a beautiful, neat, and quiet environment with experienced and qualified teachers. We have a well-stocked library, co-curricular programs, computer studies, and guidance and counseling services. There is no need for a school uniform because we are dealing with adults.
