The school, which started as a single Campus for both O-Level and A-Level in 1997, has grown to become one of the best performing schools in Uganda.The school’s commitment to diversity is reflected in its multicultural student and teacher population. Students and teachers come from all regions of the country, creating a rich and diverse learning environment that fosters cross-cultural understanding and acceptance.Mandela S.S is a mixed day and boarding school that offers both Arts and Science subjects. The school has a Board of Directors, with the Principal representing the BOD in school. Each Campus has a head teacher and a deputy head teacher, with the deanery divided into three: academics, student affairs, and sports.The school’s commitment to academic excellence is reflected in its impressive record of producing students who consistently perform well in both O-Level and A-Level examinations. In fact, in 2018, the school was ranked number 8 in the country in terms of admissions on government sponsorship (A-Level), while 93% of students who sat for the O-Level exams passed in division 1.Mandela S.S has come a long way since its humble beginnings in rental facilities behind Kwebiiha hostel in Hoima town. With the acquisition of its own land in Kiryateete West, the school has grown from strength to strength.The school’s commitment to academic excellence and diversity is unwavering, and it is clear that it will continue to be a leading light in education in Uganda for years to come.
