Mityana Hospital

Mityana Hospital, also known as Mityana General Hospital or Mityana District Hospital, is a public health facility located in the town of Mityana, Mityana District, in the Central Region of Uganda. This hospital has been providing essential healthcare services to the community since 1940, and despite its many challenges, it remains a beacon of hope in the heart of Uganda.The hospital was once in a dilapidated state, with crumbling buildings and antiquated or non-existent equipment. However, in December 2013, the Ugandan government, using funds borrowed from the World Bank, began an update and renovation of the institution. After two years of renovations, Mityana Hospital is now a modern and well-equipped facility, providing free general care to the people of Mityana and its environs.Mityana Hospital is strategically located in the central business district of the town of Mityana, making it easily accessible to those who need medical attention. It is also situated about 85 kilometres east of Mubende Regional Referral Hospital and approximately 69 kilometres west of Mulago National Referral Hospital, the largest hospital in the country.The hospital is staffed with qualified medical personnel, including doctors, nurses, and support staff, who are committed to providing quality care to patients. They work round the clock to ensure that patients receive the care they need in a timely and efficient manner. The hospital also has a well-equipped laboratory and pharmacy, ensuring that patients can receive timely and accurate diagnoses and access to essential medication.
