Muteesa I Royal University (MRU)

Muteesa I Royal University (MRU) is a private institution located in Uganda that is dedicated to providing a quality education to its students. Established in 2007, it has quickly become a leading university in the country. What sets MRU apart from other universities is its commitment to providing a wide range of academic programs, including Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering, all under one roof.In addition to its academic offerings, MRU is also known for its extracurricular activities. The university recently hosted the “Friends of Muteesa 1 Royal University Secondary schools Sports Gala,” which included football, netball, and volleyball. Many schools in Greater Masaka participated in the event, making it a great way to foster community spirit.MRU has three campuses, including one in the city of Masaka, which is the main campus, one on Mengo Hill in Kampala, and another in the town of Mubende. The main campus is approximately 135 kilometers from Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. The campus is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, and the engineering facility is particularly impressive.The university was named after Muteesa I of Buganda, who played a significant role in introducing formal education to the kingdom of Buganda. MRU was accredited by the Uganda National Council for Higher Education in 2007 and received Tertiary Education Institution accreditation from the Ministry of Education & Sports shortly after.MRU has come a long way since it was established in 2007, and it has held seven graduation events to date. The most recent graduation ceremony was held in January 2019, and it was graced by the Vice President of Uganda, Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi.Overall, Muteesa I Royal University is an institution that is committed to providing its students with an excellent education, both in and out of the classroom.
