Nebbi General Hospital

A Renovated Healthcare Facility

Nebbi General Hospital, also known as Nebbi Hospital, is a hospital located in the central business district of the town of Nebbi in the West Nile sub-region, Northern Uganda. This healthcare facility was established in 1969 by the first government of Prime Minister Milton Obote, and it currently has a bed capacity of 108.Despite being one of the government hospitals built at the same time, Nebbi Hospital’s infrastructure was in a dilapidated state, with antiquated equipment. However, recent developments have led to the renovation of this hospital, including the construction of a new, larger outpatient department and casualty department, a placenta disposal facility, and a bio-medical waste disposal facility. Additionally, the hospital has a laundry facility for patient’s family members, a kitchen and dining room, and ventilated improved pit latrines for patients’ families and outpatients. The renovation project, which started in February 2014 and was contracted to China Railway Number 5 Engineering Group at a cost of US$3.8 million, experienced multiple delays, with an initial completion date of June 2015. Nevertheless, the work was completed in May 2016, giving Nebbi Hospital a new and improved look. With the modern infrastructure, Nebbi General Hospital now offers quality healthcare services to the people of Nebbi District and beyond. The hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and is staffed by a team of qualified medical professionals who provide personalized care to patients. If you’re looking for a healthcare facility that puts your needs first, then Nebbi General Hospital is the place to be.
