Set in a serene environment, the school provides a perfect backdrop for learning and the holistic development of its students.Sponsored by the Catholic Church, under the esteemed Archdiocese of Nyeri, Nyeri High School holds true to its mission of academic excellence and character formation.Originally founded as a Primary Boys’ Boarding School by the Consolata Missionaries, Nyeri High School played a pivotal role in offering education to African students in a time when such opportunities were scarce. In 1947, responding to the growing demand for quality primary and secondary education, the school transitioned into a Junior Secondary School, spearheading a transformative era in education in the region.In 1948, the school saw a change in management and ownership as the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, hailing from the United States of America, took the helm. Despite this transition, Nyeri High School continued its remarkable academic journey, setting new benchmarks not only in Nyeri but throughout the entire nation. Under the able leadership of Reverend Father Lionel, the school achieved a milestone in 1955 by offering its first ‘O’ level examinations, a testament to its commitment to academic excellence.The growing demand for superior education facilities prompted Nyeri High School to expand its horizons.
