The school was established in 1968 by Mbarara Diocese and granted aid by the government in 1976. Since then, the institution has grown to become a leading center of academic excellence in the region.The school has well-trained teaching and non-teaching staff that support the development of the institution. The leadership of this great institution hails from the board of governors and the headteacher, Mr. Kamugisha Possy Kananga.The board of governors has been instrumental in ensuring that the school remains at the forefront of academic excellence.The government of Uganda has also played a significant role in the development of the school by paying salaries for some staff, initiating policies, and appointing boards to manage the institution.Parents have also been an integral part of the school’s success by paying school fees, supporting capital development projects, and assisting the administration through the Parents Teachers Association.St. Kagwa Bushenyi High School offers both O and A level education and is renowned for producing responsible and productive citizens.
