Straight Talk Foundation (STF) is a pioneering Ugandan non-government organization that focuses on adolescent sexual and reproductive health communication. Founded in 1993, STF started as a newspaper that provided information to young people on various topics related to their health and wellbeing.Since then, the organization has expanded its scope and services, attaining NGO status in 1997 and becoming a leader in the provision of youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health services.STF’s programs and services are designed to address the unique needs of young people, vulnerable and marginalized communities, women and girls, with special emphasis on adolescents.The organization uses an integrated approach in the delivery of its programs, which includes education, gender-based violence prevention, climate change, peacebuilding, youth empowerment, and livelihoods.With physical locations in Kampala (Central) and regional offices in Moroto (Northeast), Kitgum, and Gulu (Northern), STF reaches a wide range of audiences across Uganda. The organization distributes its materials to over 15,000 schools, 1870 health centers, 1040 churches and mosques, and 500 CBOs and NGOs.Through its programs and services, STF has contributed immensely to improving the health and wellbeing of adolescents in Uganda. The organization’s focus on empowering young people with knowledge and skills has helped to reduce the prevalence of teenage pregnancies, sexually transmitted infections, and gender-based violence.STF’s efforts have also contributed to promoting peace, social justice, and sustainable development in Uganda.
