Established in 1969 as the Institute of Public Administration (IPA), UMI has been at the forefront of developing management capacity in the public service sector in Uganda. With the enactment of the Uganda Management Institute Statue of 1992, UMI became a semi-autonomous body corporate and changed its name.
UMI offers a blend of short and long courses for middle, senior and executive level managers, aimed at strengthening the management and institutional capacity of the public, private and non-governmental sectors in Uganda and beyond.
The faculty members at UMI are experienced and dedicated to ensuring that their students acquire the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in their respective fields.
