Circle of Peace School:

Circle of Peace School is a private school located in Makindye, Uganda. Founded in 1993 as a nursery school by Joanita Bbaale Senoga, the school has grown to serve students from preschool through Primary 6, regardless of their family’s ability to pay school fees. With current enrollment of around 300 boys and girls, Circle of Peace School is dedicated to educating Uganda’s youth through balanced academic and social pursuits, nurturing reverent, hardworking, and disciplined individuals.Circle of Peace School is licensed by the Ugandan Ministry of Education and complies with all national standards. The school’s Board of Directors reports to the Ugandan Ministry of Education to ensure that it maintains its high standards. The school receives no government funding and is supported by the selfless commitment of the Bbaale family. Five of Amina Bbaale’s daughters and three of her sons, as well as other relatives, either work at the school or provide for it financially. In addition, the school generates income from poultry and maize farms, and families of the students contribute what they can toward their child’s education.The school’s mission is to educate nursery and primary students through balanced academic and social pursuits. With a focus on nurturing reverent, hardworking, and disciplined individuals, Circle of Peace School is dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment where students can realize their full potential and develop as people who experience human rights and fundamental freedoms. In addition to its academic program, the school provides for the needs of 40 orphans, 13 boys and 27 girls, who live in a boys’ dormitory and a girls’ dormitory on the campus. About one-third of these students have at least one parent who is deceased or ill from HIV or AIDS.Circle of Peace School is supported in part by Circle of Peace International, a US-based 501c3 nonprofit organization founded in 2010 to assist Circle of Peace School in meeting the educational needs of its students. With its unwavering commitment to education, Circle of Peace School is helping to shape the future of Uganda’s youth and empower them to become productive members of society.
