Kaabong General Hospital

Nestled in the town of Kaabong, in the Karamoja sub-region of Uganda, lies a public hospital that has become a beacon of hope for the residents of the Northeastern Region. Kaabong General Hospital, also known as Kaabong District Hospital, was established in 2011, by the elevation of Kaabong Health Centre IV to full hospital status. The hospital is located about 187 kilometers northwest of Moroto Regional Referral Hospital and approximately 277 kilometers northeast of Gulu Regional Referral Hospital. As part of Uganda’s efforts to improve healthcare services in the country, Kaabong General Hospital has been earmarked for renovation and expansion. This move is expected to increase the hospital’s capacity to cater to the growing healthcare needs of the region.
