Karatina University – Unleashing Excellence in Central Kenya Located in the heart of central Kenya, Karatina University is a public university that has been making waves since its establishment in 2007. Originally a campus of Moi University, Karatina University College was upgraded to a constituent college in 2010 before being declared a full-fledged university in 2013. Karatina University’s main campus is located in Kagochi, a scenic area just 15km north of the town of Karatina. Additional sites can be found in the towns of Nanyuki and Itiati, which is home to the university’s School of Education and Social Sciences. Under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Mucai Muchiri, Karatina University is organized into five academic schools, each with its own unique departments.
