University of Nairobi

The University of Nairobi, also known as uonbi or UoN, is a prestigious collegiate research university located in Nairobi and is the largest university in Kenya. Its history as an educational institution dates back to 1956, and it became an independent university in 1970. The university has over 49,000 students, with over 35,000 undergraduates and over 11,000 postgraduates, making it a popular choice for higher education in Kenya.One of the university’s notable achievements is the launch of several policy frameworks and the introduction of self-funded enrollment, also called ‘module 2’, to cope with the rising demand for higher education in Kenya.
